• Microbial molecular genetics, specifically in the field of nutrient- and environment-induced signal transduction in the control of physiology, growth and development of yeast and fungi
• Functional genomics and systems biology of yeast and filamentous fungi
• Metabolic engineering of yeasts and fungi for dedicated strain and process improvement
